Are they not selling InFocus anymore or is it just me?

I guess I didn't get my dealership renewed...do I have to go to some stupid class or something? Last time I did that it wasn't worth a shit! It was a giant sales pitch. I guess it worked because I ended up buying a POS 4805 that is now broken in sitting in a trash bag.

we spec'd an Infocus on a job as it had a long throw lens available, we were going to buy it from AVAD until we found it online from a wholeseller for a few hundred less as well as the lens for a few hundred less as well

Our AVAD still has the screenplay stuff listed...only 3 but has 6 of the big plays listed

it was a wholeseller online, we just did a search for the model number and it came up, I have been off most of the week and cant remember the exact company name buy it was back east in NY or NJ

Here is an example for the Big Play SP7205 you look up the AVAD price and then look at this

I am going to get a new projector for my house but only want to spend $700-$800. I'm thinking a refurb SP5000 is lookin like a good call. Any other reccomendations?

Just $ .02 here Glack,
But I know that the PJs that you buy from your legit distributor for your clients have a factory warranty... The models that you source from the internet DO NOT have a factory warranty. This comes directly from InFocus, and is the reason you had to register on the Back Stage portion of their dealer site.

On something as delicate as a DLP projector, this should be a major consideration for you...

we have only done it this one time...Due to a Salesman screw up. He forgot to add in the long throw lens so that threw us off some$$ and then he discounts the whole thing. which threw us into a $$ bind on the project, and we originally had a Proximis spec'd which now we coultnd get as its out of stock and discontinued, but replaced with a new model, so we spec'd in the infocus as the replacement thinking we could get it from Our AVAD guys but they didnt stock it and it was going to have to be special ordered and would take a week or two to get, then have to buy the lens at retail from infocus

I understand the whole warranty thing and we arent infocus dealers, we werent going to sign up to do 1 projector and a lens.

The proximis was from a local guy that deals in commercial projectors and screens, he was going to step us up but went way over what we had proposed, this worked in this deal and isnt going to happen again...the proposals now have to go thru several steps before they get to the client.

I bought a new SP5000 a few months ago, 'sold' it to myself, got the $300 rebate, so net to me was like $790....damn good projector for the price.

Tweak it, and use a screen, and it's hard to justify $6k for a DLP...and no rainbow effect, either!

Just my $.02 worth.

Isn't hard enought to make any margin here guys in this industry??

Think a little before you post prices and where we get stuff.
