Am I missing something? I can get dvd 480p progressive to pass through on any of the component vid inputs to the component vid out to the plasma no problem. I can not get component vid from moto dct6412 to pass through pio rcvr. If I connect direct to plasma, no problem. I've swapped cables, tried different combinations of connections & setup assigments to no avail. Damnit, I even read the manual. I've tried every setting in the menu for the dct6412 - 480i, 480p, 720p & 1080i. The pio rcvr upconverts no problem from a pos vcr to component vid. Once when I was on dvd source I swapped the cables from dvd to dct6412 & I had an image from cbl box. Went into setup to swap component input assignment so that vid matched audio & then I lost cbl again. Dvd always works no matter what. Cbl always works if I bypass rcvr. Anybody run into this one? Fire away! I'm not a pio dealer, but customer just had to have the elite piece.

I had problems with these exact two pieces and a POS DVD except we tried HDMI as well as component. We solved the problem by running 2 HDMI's, 1 component and composite to the the display (projector). If you have enough inputs on the plasma, that is what I'd recommend. Don't waste any more time on the Pioneer.

rguy,
Since I'm not there to see it I have to ask, did you go through the receiver's setup/input setup menu to assign the component video in (1, 2, or 3) to the 6412?
If you did that also check the A/V Parameters (from Remote or Front Panel) to be sure that the Video Converter is on.
I have also found that the Video Select switch behind the front panel somehow gets set to Off for some inputs with no rhyme or reason. Once you turn it on it stays on.
Just a couple of suggestions.
Feel free to waste as much time as you want with the Pioneer. I've been using a 6412 through a VSX-74TXV for over a year with know problems (other than ***cast lack of DVI/HDMI support).

John, I tried to be as clear as I could be in everything I had tried in my original post, but I guess I was not clear enough. Yes, I did reassign the component 1, 2 & 3 inputs numerous times. Reread my post. In the a/v setup I turned upconvert on & off. Like I stated originally I did try all of those things you refer to. I am not using the hdmi ins or outs at all in this system because the commercial pdp only has component in. Component vid from dvd passes no problem assigned to any of the 3 component inputs. Update: Today I went back to finish up. I had left the dct6412 connected directly to the pdp so customer could watch 24 last night, so I disconnected the cable from the cbl box & reconnected to comp vid out on vsx, reconnected the same comp vid patchcord between vsx comp 1 input & comp out on 6412 I tried before I left yesterday & VOILA! I thought it was a fluke, so I disconnected from comp 1 & switched to 2 & 3, reassigning channels as I went just to see & it works perfectly now. I am completely stumped! I tried for an hour to make it fail so I could reproduce the problem but it just works now. If Wavebroadband had updated the dct 6412 overnight, could that make the difference? Frazzled, but relieved. Erik
