Have you told the Denon to output HDMI? Just did a 3910 a little while back and had to tell it to output HDMI, it was at oggle input on the remote.

Have you tried a different HDMI cable? Are there special settings in the TV that need to be adjusted?

If those don't yield any results, maybe the HDMI out on the DVD or in on the TV is bad.

Thank you,
Damon DG

Used that DVD player through the Geffen to INfocus 7205s. Direct connected to make sure it was hot. But they run without incident for months now.

Can you get something else to show up on the TV's HDMI input. Like a cable or sat box?

We have seen this before where there is an HDCP handshake problem (damaged trace or board) with the TV set. Try another source and cable, if still no-go take the set back.

There is an HD sat rec which works with the AQ HDMI cable and works with both HDMI inputs on TV. All info points to 2910, but DOA Denon probs are rare.
BTW, Denon service has no answer

There is a firmware update at Denon's site for the 2910 with "HDMI" improvements listed as being one of the items fixed..

Go to the 2910 page and select manuals and downloads, you will find it there, it will ask for the serial number of the player and should be able to tell you if it needs an update.

[Link: usa.denon.com]

Check HDMI Notes on page 16 of the manual,
Also check in the set up that the:
-HDMI/DVI select is set to HDMI (Factory setting is off)
-Output format selected for HDMI matches the format that the display is capable of
-Video output setting for "Pure Direct" is not set to Video:Off or All:Off
