Check the Sony codes in the files section for your remote.....
Wow this should be a pinned topic............
Need a discrete code.........check the file section first and try a few codes then post in the "discrete section" if you don't have luck........
Most sony's use the same codes........

If you are using URC RTI or any major remote they are already there in the database. Input 7 is not always there but I found that in the files section here. I feel like using ed's line but I already owe him .25

Hire an F*ing pro.
There, CCD, I said it. Bill me my quarter. :-)
Really though, Sony TVs are like Marantz and Integra. Discretes are easy to find.

WOW ATOH...........
Give him both barrels......I got home after a 14 hour "fun" day and I guess maybe I was exhausted so my response seemed docile....
Everyone who ask this should be asked if they even looked around this site at all........I mean honestly there is so much here and very organized....
Daniel can you make a post a sticky on common sense....
1. Please search first 2. Within your first 5 posts you cannot sling "Nextel for $90" or XBOX 360 for $100 or ask for discretes for a Funai,Kodak,Any costco product, and definitely not Bose questions. 3. No caps unless your yelling 4. Understand that sarcasm is all we have, be thick skinned and respect that these questions have all been asked in some shape or form and we only want to help you not belittle you, but in the meantime we invite you, with such asked questions, to be out whipping post for a brief moment, due to what we say to you we cannot say to most customers without being "ASSES"
I understand NOOBS are looking for the same thing, but if you want me to help with a post, or have everyone type up some general questions, to sticky at the top, with a READ THIS FIRST headline....we may further educate and encourage newbies to do a liitle research first!!!!!
RANT OFF!

Ed will be known as the Tiger Woods of the integration business, followed closely with the renaming of his company to "Hotties A/V". The tag line will be "We like big racks and tight holes"... |

I actually found I need this code myself for a job this week w/an MX remote ... didn't see any "KDL" models on R/C, but I've not actually looked at URC's database yet to see if this is in there - gonna do that shortly and will respond if I find it.

Pretty much all Sony discretes work with all sony products. Every now and then there is an exception though.

Ah, it was all in fun. Really, it was!
Like cma said, most sony discretes work with most sony tvs. It doesn't have to be that exact model. Try them, they'll probably work.
Send me the bill Ed. I've got a rubber check here waiting to go out to you, I just need the address....

So with the latest MX900 editor, I suddenly see an IR d/b entry specific to this model, the Sony KDL-V40XBR1 ... however, the IR d/b only has SIX discrete video inputs, and on this display there are seven (last is the PC/DVI input).
Just fyi ... when I get a chance I'm going to see if one of the other Sony TVs has a VIDEO7 discrete code (but if anyone's already done so and can share the info, please advise).

The Radio Shack remote I bought for discretes had nothing. I know in the past people have talked about the Radio Shack 15-1994 having discretes. But that model is discontinued. Can anyone tell me a good (cheap) remote to buy to acquire the discretes I need?

Flip me an email and I will send an MXF with Video7. You would already have it but you do not show your email in your profile.
