At the point where I'm getting tired of using existing shelving for the components. For the most part, I'm not happy with the appearance of traditional shelving and want to go for a more custom look at an affordable price. Any ideas on a product that is good for using existing cabinets and just removing the shelving. I've seen AVRack (seems pricey)and a few others. Thanks, CMack

Sorry, don't have a link, but: Any one of their racks can be used as an A/V rack. Choose by appearance.
However, the "Slim5" style is simple, good and knocks down to about the least volume possible for shipping. The Axcess racks are the ones that roll out onto service tracks for access to the rear. These are great to use, but much more expensive and require LOTS more thought as to wire planning.

Give a local welding shop a try. Supply him with the rail, give your dimensions. After a couple he should have them perfected. The guys I use do a lot of custom home jobs (railings, gates, etc..)

Middle Atlantic, worth every penny. On a budget, try Raxxess, not quite up to the same build quality, but I don't need a seismic rated rack on every install.

I use Mid. Atlant. or I custom build my own AV racks using the raw rack rail. If the existing cabinet is 19 1/8" wide inside you can simply cut the rail to length, preferably to tru rack spaces (1 3/4" increments) and screw it right in, get some rack shelvs from them (RU-1 RU-2 or RU-3) and your all set. If you have real rack mount equipment you can screw it right in. VR Audio Systems LLC Phoenix, Arizona www.vraudiosystems.com
