Did anybody hear the release that Pioneer will make no more Plasma's this fiscal year? Also, they will make no more DVD players either. They will release a Blu Ray eventually, but it will be OEMed. They just can't compete with the low ball units flooding the market.
This industry is changing right before our eyes.

Thanks Korea & China

Hmmm.....Pioneer's fiscal year ends on March 31, so I don't think your news is current anymore.

We're talking fiscal '07 Tweeterguy.
One small revision is that they are closing a few plants. The Elite 43"&50" & Base line 50" will be non existant, everything else will just be hard to get.

WTF???

Think about it.

You have to deliver the product to receive the rebate.

No product-no rebate!

Marketing 101!?

I just attended a training on Pioneer Plasmas and they 2 guys that gave it had a lot of history to share. First thing is that Pioneer bought NEC last year. The 61" Pionner is made in the NEC plant. That is why it doesn't need a media box. Second, NEC was OEMing for just about everyone and Pioneer has put a stop to that. Third, they are moving away from 42" and 50" will be the smallest they make as they release a 70".

I seriously doubt that they are not producing anymore units for the rest of the year. I would look at your source again.
Just my opinion, I could be wrong.
