Hey,

I am the owner of a small Custom Electronics Firm.
Until very recently we were buying Marantz from a local distributor who was marking up the product just slightly from cost and I was reselling to my customers at MSRP or Better.

I guess my distributor was selling to some bone heads that started selling at a local Flee market or out of the back of there truck for next to nothing to the public and my distributor got caught. Any one know a company that is willing to sell Marantz as a distributor to a respectable legitimate Company in Florida with a Tax resale cert. any help would be great.

You should be able to find a distributor somewhere in FL. Not sure of territory considerations but I use Summit Distributing in MN. Great company!

It's my understanding that Marantz is not a distributed line. In fact, I sell the line because it is "clean", and not available to anybody on the planet, like Philips, etc. The lack of response you are observing is probably the result of there being no legit Marantz distributors.

Don't get me wrong, there's a place in the world for distributed lines like Philips. You could get those from the AVAD people, Capital Sales, etc., or sign up to be a Marantz direct dealer. I did the latter, but there are plenty of good reasons to do the former.

Look I realize that Marantz is Protected but thats why I want it. Sure in a perfect world I would love to become a direct Dealer but unfortunatley I have only one employe (thats ME), I have no showroom and a young companey. The Main reason I want Marantz is beacause I want to keep the quality of my product high and because of a retailor called Brandsmart. If I try to sell something they are and my coustomer ever opend a newspaper I get undersold! Then I have to play the "your buying me and the end result" game and its a pain in the ass.

I picked up Marantz after being in business 8 months. I had no showroom (still don't!) and two employees counting myself. It can be done, and for reasons you point out a very worthwhile move. Marantz has been able to ship product while other mfr's are telling me still that their stuff is stuck in Long Beach because of the strike. Marantz has the cache' of quality with customers. They are loyal to their dealers; try logging in to their web site and you are confronted with a page that says in detail what you don't get when you don't buy from an authorized dealer.
