Hi All,
I hope this doesn't sound like a stupid question but does anyone know if you can use a different brand RF reciever with the Marantz remotes. It seems that the Marantz ones are being upgraded and there is no stock of the RX-77's, therefore no RF recievers for Marantz at all for a while (Australia). I know that the Phillips one worked but that was an RX-77 with a different name on it and they are unavailable too. I'm hoping not to have to change from Marantz remotes and definately don't want to go back to I/R kits.

Can anyone help?

Simon.

You can use Philips either RFX6000 (same as RX77) or the newer better one RFX6500.
I used the RFX6500 with the RC9500 without any problem.

Hope this help

That should work as should the Marantz RX7001 (if it's available down under)... I know it's been shipping up here in the US.

Yes, they are called the Philips LI-900 here. Also the new LI-910 is waaaaaay better, but also waaaaay more pricey. Qualifi should be getting stock very soon. But if your desperate for one let me know.
I have one RX-77 sitting by my feet! (new)
