The project is scheduled to be installed after a plethora of rainy seasons, probably around 2020. Any quote you provide must be valid for that time frame.

Ted:
Eastern Pennsylvania is where exactly? It takes me about 2 hours from LI down Rt.78 to Exit 54 or thereabouts. I have available for listening, Triad On Wall Bronze LCRs, On wall 3 ( new on wall with LCRs built in ), Gold mini monitor, gold monitor, and within 5 minutes drive, IW silver LCRs, Bronze sats, Silver Omni, gold omni and OmniR.

Is Dave contemplating finishing his project? Or might he merely be soliciting bids in furtherance of his fantacy of completing his project?

Northern California? Assuming you are within 90 minutes of Napa, I coiuld be pursaded to take a plane trip.

90 minutes yes. More like 60. Project start date 7/15/06. Project completion date 1Q07, possibly April.

... and I'd be happy to find retail prices for Triad's somewhere to even know if they are in my price range.

EDIT:
I tried to post a link to the Triad Retail Price Guide from their site... but it is behind the dealer section of the site and needed a password.

I see that our pal Glack posted some numbers in the next post, so I will not upload the sheet to another server and post a new link.

inwall silver 4 LCR is 1000.00
inwall silver 4 monitor is 2200.00
inroom silver LCR is 900.00
inroom silver monitor is 2000.00
inwall bronze 4 LCR is 600.00
inroom bronze LCR are 500.00
inwall bronze 4 surrounds are 500.00

These are all each and retail pricing at MSRP and in basic finish

Looks like they are in my price range. Thanks for the post! (Inwall silver monitor is 2200?)

edit: I was looking for the pricing on the surround, not the monitor, but thanks this helps!

Silver Surrounds are $700 ea. for either OnWall or InWall (installs into a 4" depth wall and has a flush grille).

The silver monitor is a high end mini monitor and is priced as such. While it has a D'Appolito driver configuration it is not really a LCR though, like any other good speaker, it can be used in a surround sound system. What is true about Triad's LCRs is that they are remarkablly good audio speakers; much better than many other LCR speaker systems at playing 2 channel sound convincingly.

How about pricing on the Omniround 5/6/8 ? What's their best application? I would presume inwall surrounds would be better for a 5.1 room? Are the Omniround best for stereo inceiling applications?

Yes on the stereo, they are not intended for theater aplications. I just did a job with 30 inceiling 8 inch rounds and every one really likes them

What did you sell them for? Retail or less?

This isn't the AVS forum here... we really only talk in terms of retail pricing.

Nothing personal, but if this starts to be known as a "go to" site for consumers to find discounts, it really becomes less and less of an installer's forum.

If you want to chat with RTI Installer (or anyone else here for that matter) about discounted pricing or hiring his company, you should really contact him via PM or e-mail.

I have used OmniRound models from the current generation as well as the original OmniRound for surrounds in ceiling applications of media room and bedroom surround installs.

They are sonically pretty close to the Omni and Bronze/Silver LCRs and more than capable of doing a fine job.

I would caution that the OmniRounds are not rated for same amount of power as Surrounds or LCRs, so any clients with metal plates in their heads who reuire playback at mach-5 volume levels on a consistent basis should use the Surrounds or more LCRs in the rears.
