Most UPS companies will have a calculator like this:

(click on configure by load)

You will enter in the number of watts the protected equipment uses as well as the amount of time that you would like it to run, and it will give you a suggestion of which model to use.

I use a UPS with all of the projector instals I do now, I have experienced way fewer trouble calls since I have started doing this.

Cool. Don't mean to remind you of the subject, but

So I gotta ask: What size UPS are you using?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

400 watt models work just fine for most projectors as you only need maybe 5 minutes max for the thing to run through its cool down cycle when shut off, further its really a bonus for most customers when they are watching super bowl and the power flips off for half a second, which usually would mean that the customer has to wait for the whole boot up cycle to finish before he can continue watching the game. I either use a power strip UPS model which I will put up in the attic above the projector or I will use the Panamax “Max in wall” system [Link: panamax.com] with an APC battery backup
