I posted this at IP but I thought maybe Ed would see it here. Ed, aren't you a DWIN dealer?

I have a customer that purchased a DWIN HD-150 plasma form a local high end audio dealer who is pretty much useless. The panel is an NEC. The panel itself will go from standby to on for 5 or 10 seconds then click off. Obviously something wrong with the panel itself.

DWIN is just as useless as the local dealer it seems. I filled out an RA form from DWIN for this customer, they claim a 48 hour turnaround for contact. After 4 days we called and left a message for Steve in the customer service department. This might be the only guy working there for all I know, he is the only one that ever answers the phone. Anyway, on Friday he finally called back and I asked have you got all the correct info etc. He says that "oh uh, engineering will call you to see what to do" Called back again today and he says that NEC will call to do whatever it is they do.

Anyone have any experience with DWIN for service? So far they suck. Dude paid 10 g's for this rebadged plasma and 1 year and 3 weeks after the install this is the state of customer serve. (the issue occurred well before the warranty expired) This thing has been down for 2 months now. Original dealer said the outboard processor needed to be upgraded; thats why it didn't work. He then sent the processor to DWIN with no documentation or an RA. The dealer was obviously just tryinto pass the buck.

Anyway, sorry for the long post, any DWIN dealers? Thanks.

yea i'm a dwin dealer......

times like this i wish i did not love their products.....usually steve is pretty good at things

call dwin in the morning ask for arsha, explain the situation and i bet she can get you in the right direction..... try david in sales as well he's a great guy for sure he will get things done...he's a vp of the company.

i think the problem might be nec is giving dwin the run around they are no longer doing stuff together

the dwin 50 inch plasma is awsome with the scaler... i love mine to death much better than runco or any others i've seen

as for the other dealer tell dwin who it is so they can shit can him.

I hate to say this but Dwin has been on our s--t list for awhile now. Over the last few years we've sold quite a few TV3s and a few Plasmas. They have pretty much all been to service for one thing or another and getting an RA... someone to call you back... etc. is like pulling sharks teeth. When you finally do get one its a MINIMUM $345.00 to get the tech to look at it. I've been told to fix problems myself over the phone and had a few units come back "fixed" and they won't power up or have some major smudge on the inside of the lens.

I loved their products but have since moved on... so has our NW rep who was tired of the service issues as well.

Ed, Italked to David at DWIN and it seems like things are going to move quicly now. Thanks for the heads up. I know you really like the line, David wonders if I would be interested in carrying them now. They only have one or two dealers in the Detroit area, and one is not so hot. Has it been a good line to sell, not only use? Thanks.
