Is there a set distance in feet for a 100" screen projector. I want to run the elec, composite, and componant wires for it.

Thanx, B

it depends on the projector you're using. They're all different

We can do it my way, or we can do it my way while I yell. The choice is yours.

yeah. i looked into this for a client who wanted a real short throw. generically speaking, most projectors have a pretty long throw these days compared to the old three-CRT projectors (making it hard to sell a new projector to drop into an expensive prior setup); I ran across a couple that had sort of long throws, but they were in the $10,000 range.

check out models you have heard of at projectorcentral.com; they have a calculator there that will let you dry-run the dimensions to see if one will work.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

You could also check out short throw lens options on projectors. Some times companies offer a short throw option for people who will be using the projector in a custom rear projection application.

Infocus Screenplay is about (*BETWEEN) 12'-14' for a 92" screen. Thats from the lens. You would probably be safe somehweres around 15'. Might have to use some smurf tube or wire loom to neaten the wires if your off.

OR Drill down the center of the room with a 2" hole and run the wires that way with out stapling them back, simply cut in an old wrk ring or box and pull the wires through.

I did move it back to 12 feet off center of the room and installed a trim ring for a onQ four port rca plate. Since I nor the customer has no idea at this time of what brand of projector he'll want, this will have to do for now. He is just in a hurry to get his basement finished drywall everywhere, ceiling and all.

Typically the throw distance for projectors is around 1.7 - 2.2 times the screen size.
