Well, I haven't found a discrete Zone2 on/off, but I have a workaround. That's about the only thing I dislike having to deal with. One of the the coolest Zone2 features with Marantz is that it stays on to pass active source signal even when you power off the main receiver. Try that with a Denon...

On the lower end units (4600 and 5600) it sucks that their are only 2 component vid inputs, but other than that I am Marantz across the board!

p.s. would you guys agree that Marantz seems to run a little cooler than some others - maybe I just have too many memories of H/K heaters ;)

You'd be silly not to take a serious look. There are some drawbacks to the multi-zone capability, but that's where it ends. You can use Phillips or Wizzit software to get discrete codes.

Great power, great sound, great video.

Besides, with Marantz you also pick up a STELLAR video lineup. I've sold 100's of their plasmas over the past couple years.

You sure?

I am almost sure I had one a few months ago. May have gotten it from ATOH.
No, I wont install your plasma with an orange extension cord hanging down the wall.

Go to line for us. Doesn't default to stupid surround sound modes when swtiching between DD and PCM (Harmon). Doesn't loose its input/output/surround sound settings after a power outage (Onkyo/Integra). Actually has real discret codes and dooesn't sound like crap (Sherwood Newcastle).

Yahama and Denon were solid but for the buck we sell the 5600 all day.

I'm still surprised allot of you guys experience awkwardness while operating zone 2. I have been successfully operating it as if it was another independent receiver. If you'd like send me an email and I'll send you a MXF/D.

I would assume that they worked? There's an easy way to get all of these if you look in the right spots. Look around on their website for the file and then you'll have to use Wizz.It and Makehex to get the pronto hex

Yeah, the 5600 is a really nice unit for the money. I just got through dealing with some set up stuff on a new HK receiver... what anightmare!

The only thing missing in the 5600 is a reat IF input. It has RC5 and RS-232 though.
I'm always right. The only time I was wrong was the time that I thought, that I was wrong.

Marantz is great stuff guys! We have been using it for over six years with only a few complaints. DVD players seem to die pretty regular. The receivers and video products are bullet proof.
