Greetings!

What is everyone doing for inwall subwoofer pre-wire?

We have used the Quad Monster cable.

I know there is a better way and a better sounding solution.

Any input would help.

Thanks,

Mike

We simply us an RG6 with an RCA end. Never had any problems. Never had to use quad shield either.
Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

I certainly hope that you RG6 guys are using solid centers and not CCS.

unbalanced line level cable with solder type RCA ends. RG59 works well too. I would avoid the CATV rg6 as it is not designed to carry low frequencies.

Yah... because you might be losing a whole 0.2dB of signal with the CCS! I'd also suggest soldering the wire directly to the receiver output and the sub input, as the connector loss is about 2dB per connector.

Here we go.....

RG59 + Cat 5 + 14/4 just to cover our a%#es... :)

I sure hope some genious engineer doesn't decide to have their subs hooked up via an HDMI connector!!!

The problem with using CCS for a sub is that it wont carry the high frequencies :)
I use RG-59 also.
It's such a fine line between stupid, and clever.

We use RG-59 that has copper center conductor and copper braid. It is the same wire as we use for CCTV cameras. Does anyone disagree with this type of cable?

Thanks,
