On my way home tonight I stopped to see what was new & exciting at a high end shop my friend works at in town....
He set up the new Wilson Audio "Alexandrias" with some Australian built Amplifiers (Halcro), and a Linn CD transport... The sound of course was spectacular... The room is carefully tuned (rpg diffusers, bass traps, acoustical paneled walls etc.)...
As I got up to leave, I noticed these huge speaker cables... (Transparent Opus) cables... Looked like the trans alaska pipeline going to each speaker...
Total System cost: $265,000.00. And the two 8 ft. long speakers cables...$30,000.00!
Kind of a humbling experience to leave the store and climb into my 10 year old car that cost me 1/10th of what the speaker cables alone cost!!!
But ya know... I got home and cranked up my old ADS speakers, that a customer donated to me years ago... they don't really sound all that bad... hmmmmm.
I guess some people just can't spend it fast enough??? Wish a few more would come my way!
