I have a small problem that maybe one of you has dealt with in the past. My customer ordered a 73" RP HD set which is actually a nice looking TV. However when the TV actually got onsite I noticed immediately it was missing 2 very important features from the one he said he was ordering. It does not have either a VGA computer or RS232 and of course it did on the original. The RS232 missing kind of sucks but oh well I can still do IR reliably or at least I think so.

On the other hand the lack of a VGA input is a major stumbling block since I have a computer in the system for his Karaokee (yes I hate Karaokee but its a cool piece)
Anyway I tried a Key Digital piece to convert to component and it does work but only at 640x480 60hz , even though the input is 1080i . The problem is at that resolution as you can guess the picture is overscanned by about 5% which doesn't make the customer to happy and I promised to make it right so at this point I am stuck. The picture quality is good enough but that overscan has got to go!

Have any of you had a similar problem and know of a box/widget that will give me sizing? The video card gives me nothing and PowerStrip gives me tons but the Mitsubishi aint playin. It wants to see specific resolutions and nothing outside of that at all or it goes nuts.

Does the video card have some simple output like S-video or Composite? Can you swap it? Seems like the simplest option to me...

Have you talked to Key Digital, or maybe Extron, about this? It seems that Key would have something to do this. I don't think they are generally in the business of lowering resolution!
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Who spec'd the TV... You or Him??

Most of the current model's don't have VGA in, some of last years didn't either.

It's not something that Mits just pulled off mid-production....

Thanks for the help guys..I am still stuck at this point but I am still in hot pursuit!
Brent, Mitsubishi 73" CRT RP did have VGA as well as RS232C but your right they didn't just do it. The customer purchased the TV although I did handle ordering it and everything so I am somewhat responsible. He spec'd it not me I just ordered what he said!
Yes it does have HDMI
Key Digitals fix is to use the powerstrip program and they absoulutely know about the resolution drop. i tried the PowerStrip program which I have used many times in the past just not any luck in this case.
The video card does have a composite/SVHS out but that is being used for the drop down LCD which shows the words so unfortunately can't be switched..I wish it could.
The Model is

I will get it sooner or later and I am sure someone has had the exact same issue...thanks again guys
