What's the longest run you've done using this type of cable? I'm going to use Belden 3x3 and compression connectors, for some 50-125 foot component runs of HD video & progressive scan dvd. Is termination identical to standard coax, except with a smaller diameter?

I'd love to use coax, but all pulls will be through emt.

You mention RF in the title and then component in the post. Component works fine at 125ft over mini rgb.

I will be using Liberty Wire & Cable in HD distribution.
The cable is RGB5C-20-CMR which is high bandwidth cable with component and audio with Key Digital HD amplified distributor to send the signal to 12 Plasmas in coffee shop.
The distance to the Plasmas are from 24' up to 100'.
We should be able to finish it in 2 to 3 weeks.

Do coffins have lifetime guarantees ?

I just finished a project based around a Pioneer Pro-1410 61" plasma display. I ran 90' IXOS CL-110av (mini rgb - 6 conductor) feeds for both HDTV cable and progressive scan DVD. No noticeable dropout in signal performance to me or anyone else on the jobsite. In addition to this, the extra video feed in the cl-110 was used for a composite video feed. I used ICM compression rca terminates all around.

We just started using Genesis Mini-RGB cables with great success. We use the 6 conductor, but I will be buying the 5 conductor with Cat5 next. Since we often need IR as well this will work great. We are going to experiement and see if we can run IR and also do a Cat5 to RCA jack in case we need composite.

We have done close to 100' with no problems. Picture was very clear.
Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Sorry forgot to mention. We had to buy a special Mini-RGB stripper. It wasn't that much, but the ones we us on RG6 just didn't work well. I ended up buying a whole kit with the compression tool, stripper, and some ends.
Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Regarding sending audio over the mini-RGB, I've been reading that because the mini-RGB is 75ohm, it can create problems with the audio signals...thoughts?

We have run audio on RG6 before without any problems. Just did it in a pinch, but it worked, and seemed to sound fine.
Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

fred,

75 ohms for audio is ok.... just cant use 50ohm for video...... most of us use serial digital coax with some type of rca connector with zero issues
