Customer already had this Sony 400 Disc DVD/CD player, automating it for DVD use is straight forward in that it has a relatively OK on screen menu to get to DVD's or CD's.
Question: Have any of you been able to select an individual CD with just IR control...blindly ?
Seems the customer wants to be able to use this for his CD changer for the House Music system controlled by Sonance K2 pads, which would make things difficult if this could only occur with the on screen GUI.
Thanks for your opinions and or suggestions.

We use them with Control4. The previous models were easy, but as usual easy was not good enough and Sony had to screw it up. You will need to build a macro with the following steps: First the remote must be in the DVD position(not disc explorer) Then we use 2 stop commands to be sure DVD is not playing
Then press "Display" Then press "Enter" Then enter disc # Then press "Enter" again Then press "Display" to exit.
You will need to place pauses between the commands. just play with those till the timing is right.
Hope this helps.

Boy, I appreciate the help, your idea works great. However what a clusterf**k just to get to a certain CD. I already had the customer use a certain group of slots for the CD's.
I forgot about that display function to select a disc, it's my alzheimers kicking in. My macro was crazy but it did work, I used one to have the player show just the Music CD's then play the first one. Then the customer could at least press disc skip ff or rew. Yours works a lot faster.
Thanks
