How many moving parts are inside LCOS, and DILA??? Only the fan. I wish Sony would come out with a SXRD Front PJ, that I could get. I guess you have to be a Qualia dealer.

SONY just has ZERO interest in supporting the custom installation market. Unless you have retail space forget it!

You can get them for $700 new direct from InFocus on eBay at the "InFocus eBay Store" - then you get a new lamp....that's what I would do if I HAD to have one.

Google

color wheel projector

and happy reading!
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

U.S.

It has been about six months since I got a quote for a 4805 with a bad color wheel. Infocus told us 1200 bucks, american. Maybe they lowered their price after everyone quit buying their product. As for the color wheels in the SXRD...it was a lame attempt at a joke.

Is anyone else waiting for the colorwheel to fly out of the NASCAR DLP Car?

WOW!!! And I remember when INFOCUS was at CES a few years ago... Their big thing was.."Hey, sign up with Us... We WILL NEVER EVER sell our stuff online, nor will we allow anyone else to."

They said they would have numerous guys on a daily basis just checking the internet for "Violaters" and they'd track serial numbers and cut off suspected dealers!!!!
What a joke huh?!?!

When I called Infocus a few months ago on this VERY same issue, they offered me a refurbed for like $300 or so. I think I was going from a 4800 to a 4805. They offered the 4805 in exchange for the 4800. I ended up selling the customer a 5000 I think, and still have the 4800 sitting at the office colecting dust.

Might do a search for this on here, I cant remember if there mught be any more helpful info in my post on the topic. (I had it all torn apart as well. )
