We usually send out the designer, head installer, head programer, project manager, the main client liason(spell check?) and a 'helper'= 2 guys(I'm the first 5 listed).

Works out pretty well for projects under 10,000sq.ft.

We generally finish a pre-wire for cable, phone, whole house audio, alarm, and one multi-use 'theater' in less than
2 days.

If you involve another 'helper', you just lost a man(the head installer) doing the work as he became a 'project manager'!

It would be nice to have the crew come blasting up to the 50,000sqft house in hummers(parking? we don't need no stinking parking!) and have a 'jolly green giant' drop down with the supplies in a 40' container but, that just doesn't happen 'round here ;-(

Such is the life here in 'rural' America!
Every day is a good day.......some are just better than others!

Proud to say that my property is protected by a high speed wireless device!

So how many times faster does it go if I use 4
people? Does it increase exponentially?

no - it only increases in even numbers :) ....and then at 2 teams (4) you gotta add 1 more guy for a total of five.

SO...the magic numbers are

2 men

4 men + 1 project manager type and so on...
Tact is for people who aren't witty enough to be sarcastic!

I'v done houses w/8000 sq ft by myself. Not saying that's the way I prefer but somtimes that's the way it works out. We use spools of bundled cable so It makes it easer and we have 5 spool holders per trailer so often I can pull one side of the house 2+2 plus some audio control cable at the same time. And then pull the other side. Not tring to brag but I can rough a house almost as fast as it takes my 2 guys to do it. Then again I have been doing it a while longer and I'm not getting paid by the hour.

Bottom line - 2 guys or more is probly the most effecient rather than yourself. But if you must...
