ok.. i have a customer who's interior designer is bilking him of all his cash. we just finished an ADA suite 16 audio/video system..... our next step is to do a theater...

this is where he is having an issue...... i spec'd in the following

dwin tv4
rbh speakers signature series
ada suite 7.1
ada ptm6150
other mis stuff

bill comes to around 22k for this with labor...not bad but he had to come up with an exrtra $18k for designer and her bullshit......

he wants this very bad but money is not right for now. my idea is this

take his outside patio zone from ADA and make that temporary theater zone. do theater as planed just without surround sound for now.

take that stereo pair and amp zone run a pair of speakers behind screen he gets nice big picture with all the flexibility of the suite 16 just with stereo.....

then in april/may when cash is good put in the suite7.1 speakers and ptm6150 amp.....

this makes sence in my mind...

makes sense, and you're not screwing the guy, you should be looked at as the good guy in the customers eyes because you're trying to help him out, not to mention, since i know your location, he won't be using the patio zone for a while

Let see if I have this right. The owner gave the interior decorator the funds for the house and she misappropriated the funds by falling for the African check scam? That is beyond unprofessional and borders on criminal. I am surprised she is still in the mix.
I'll let you know tomorrow..

Second that. Any business you do with her from this point forward could involve you further in this mess. The client needs to act separately in his own best interests.

nardo you nailed it on the head... not only that the customer had her sign a promissary note to repay the funds......

the customer is truely a nice guy... one in a million... i wanted to put a bullet in her head and he wants to help her....he's just nice than i am...

customer gave designer the money. she wrote 40k worth of checks to different people everyone bounced without warning.......

customer wanted his house finished so what is he to do? he pays everyone out of pocket at that point.

the designer does not even have insurance...how do i know this... i asked for her policy # to make a claim when the check bounced......she said i dont need insurance i'm just a consultant........i just about when thru the roof.

then to make things worse she mother fu$%ers me to everyone when i give her greif about the funds... she's bad mouthing me to everyone...... homeowner , painter, tile guy, carpet people carpenters etc...... she has the nerve to say i'm the bad guy cuz i wont finish the job until i'm paid......

she is based out of chicago area.... i will post her name so nobody will do business with her......

ther is no fuc$ing way i will ever do business with her again.......ever....... the client is paying me direct now....

ceid:
Make copies of her bounced check(s), and post them at the jobsite with a warning sign!
I'd report her ... I'll bet you anything she is not paying her taxes either... and probably operating totally illegally!

I just finished dealing with a bounced check from a guy... It overdrew my acount for 4-weeks! It ws re-deposited twice and bounced... I had over $830.00 in returned check fees alone... Not to mention how unhappy my landlord and suppliers are, plus it killed a project for me, where I need to buy mass pre-wire supplies... but I was broke!

It was a country club-I did work for...Distributed Audio.. & Hanging a bunch of (his) Plasmas... Last week, after 6 unanswered emails, and phone calls, I just showed up... said Pay uUp, I'm sorry, but I'm not leaving... I want cash, and I know you are personally well to do - so I don't care if you have to take it out of your Personal Account.. I want it today!

He frickin' goes over to a file cabinet and pulls out cash!
After all the B.S. he put me through... feel like suing his ass.
Tell me, Cied.. does this designer leave a snail trail behind her? Boot her ass back to the windy city! Or sprinkle some salt on her.

customer just called me..... i went thru the senerio that he most likely wanted to do it right but with all the drama and extra cash out things needed to wait.....

i proposed the senerio of taking the patio and doing theater with just stereo for time being..... he loved the idea....

he gets to have a great big screen with ok sound for now then in a month or so make it awsome sound....

its a win win situation

i get to sell him a projo and sreen with some labor, and i get to sell him speakers and processor pream in a little while ...he gets to save about 10 grand right now and still gets big quality image.....

at this point it seems like its all good.

Into a F'ing trashcan i hope. Douche bag.

Ceid.

It sounds as if you handled the situation 100% appropriately. Your client will see how you react to the really bad situation and you will have a guy getting you your next few jobs. Rich guys like how people can respond to bad situations a redesign a game plan to help them still meet their goals.

Now, wheres that can?

Is she good looking?

She sounds stupid and desperate enough that you could probably get her to do some pretty disgusting things for money. Start a website and you could be on your way.
