I’ve come across a similar problem to a recent thread (Two digit hex for Digitalview DVH-505, 18th January 2006)
I am programming a Nevo SL to control discretes on a digital view DVH-505 HD STB. I also received the PDF file from Control Dynamics and I tried the two suggestions from John Fine. The tried the first (900A) form of pronto hex, which worked for HiFidel programming RC5400 & 9500’s. I recently cut and pasted Marantz discretes for a Marantz receiver straight from the 5400 default file in Wiz.it, and they worked out of the Nevo, therefore I would have assumed that the condensed 900A format would work also.

In my case the STB did not respond to the IR command, ( the Digital view STB has a IR receive LED which flashes only when a valid command is received.) and did not flash the LED.

So I tried the conversion method John mentioned , using Makehex and the nec1.irp file. This time the IR receive LED flashed however the devise did not respond. I checked to make sure I used the correct function number . I converted the function numbers to decimal and also tried the –H switch in Makehex, ( on command , 80 = 128 decimal, off 81 = 129) to make sure I wasn’t making a mistake. No luck

Is there something I’ve done incorrectly? Any advice would be appreciated.

If you do figure it out, please post the solution as I was trying to do the same a few months ago but didn't quite understand how to convert the 2 digit discrete on/off codes to pronto hex equivalents.
