A client has a WS-65903 and never got HD for it until today. I have NO CLUE how to get to that input, although a couple of hours of searching on this site, and also not finding it at the hometheaterspot, has informed me that there is a special menu for doing so. I have gotten into a service menu and not damaged anything, but I didn't see how that would help because I don't know what to do.

The manual is not available at the Mits web site, and I only went there because I can't believe the sparse information here in two booklets is all that came with the TV. I have seen customer comments about how worthless the manuals were.

Anybody know how to do this?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Believe it or not I have a similar class of product from 1998 and have a 100-page "user guide", 35-page "av systems connections guide" and 36-page "tv guide plus operating guide". Is that more than you have there?

I don't know anything when it comes to TVs, so I probably can't answer your questions from the manuals, but I could send them. I have also inquired for you at Mitsu, but that might take a couple days. They are usually pretty good at responding.

There should be an input button on the front panel of the TV. From the manual it looks like you can use that to get to HDTV.

I can't swear to this but some of the older Mits HD rear pros required an adapter which I don't recall the model number of, attached to the RGB input, that is basically a transcoder. Sorry I can't help further

Ernie...Shoe is correct that you need the external HD adaptor and I'm assuming your customer already has this; if not it is needed. If so try this:

1.) Press MENU-1-3-7-0
2.) Use the up and down arrow keys to select DTV INPUT. The default selection should be AUTO
3.) Press ENTER until the default select switches to HD.
4.) Press MENU twice to exit the service menu.
5.) Now you can use the INPUT button on your remote to cycle through the inputs; there will be a new input immediately following ANT-B; this is the HD input.
6.) TV is ready for HD

Tweeterguy has it, although a different number got me into the service menu today (and then I didn't know what to do).

Julie, you are just being reasonable. For some inane insane reason, for that generation of Mitses, you have to enter the service menu, you know, where they tell you one misstep and you have an expensive kaleidoscope; and there you turn on the HDTV input. You can't get it to show up until you do that. In the service menu. Idiots.

I need a transcoder, but only because the HD source I have is component, not because that will make the input appear. I now have connected the transcoder and have a signal that will not appear.

I'll tell you more when it happens.

Tweeterguy had it word for word, button for button, push for push.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many thanks!

The customer called me a hero and I owe it all to you.

Thanks again.

P.S. Discrete remote codes named DTV 1 or DTV 2 both switched to that input.

Have not performed that function in a while. There are many different codes to enter into Mits service menus. Depending on model. Email me if anyone wants the PDF.
