What is your favorite piece of equipment to install? Just for the fun of it.

That's easy. I'll probably be off a # or 2 (it's late) but, the KEF CI2000QT's. Motorized in-ceiling speakers that drop out of the ceiling with your macro. Freakin' fun and the client loves 'em. Easily some of the best sounding in-ceiling's I've ever installed. Nice, tight bass.

this is much more crudely poetic than the answer that came to me immediately, but it is the same answer. I just wonder, did he get his from Noel Lee?

Anthony,
I LOVE the idea of those Kefs, and I liked the sound on them until I installed a set of them as fronts and center for a projector in a huge living room that had a second amplifer and surround system on the other side of the huge double fireplace. The Sonance 623s that I put in that other system made the Kefs sound thin! I was amazed because Kefs always sound so good.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I have'nt heard those Sonance 623's but, thin? That's wacky. The KEF's sound great compared to the Infinity Modulus stuff I pulled out for the client. They're certainly not towers though. The "wow" factor is sure tough to beat!

Most fun?

Expensive two-channel audiophile systems. But only if you get to listen to them when you're done...

The Kef's, a motorized screen, motorized drapes, and lighting control all timed out perfectly. Not sure who was more excited, us, the installers, or the client.

Kef's sounded great in the enviroment we were in, a small rectangular room.

Just for the fun of it.

The Full-Tilt one button Macro Theater... Black-Out shades timed with the Light Dimmers and Screen - Drop and Projector Drop Mechanisms...And the THX intro comes on and the volume ramps up!!! (Have to think about a cold shower now)!

The new SpeakerCraft - drop down speakers (similar to the KEFs')...

Any Genelec Surround System -- Jaw -dropping audio, that will play loud as hell - cleanly and they are protected from being overdriven.

Tactile Bass Transducers... And I know we're all tired of hearing about them... Plasmas behind mirrors.

...Actually anything that works when you first plug it in, it cost a lot, no programming, it's fully paid for, and makes the homeowner give you the high five, as he shakes his head in amazement and hands you a stiff drink, with a $100 tip!

I agree, Amen but, after 4 1/2 years clean, that stiff drink would probably have me asking the client if he knows where we can cop dope, I'd kiss his wife, belt him in the face and pass out as the police showed up to drag me in for a 72 hour hold. Ah, the good old days.
