I'm having a problem with deleting analog channels from the guide as well as the receiver not finding my 3 modulated camera channels. I checked off the local analog channels in "custom favorites" but they still show up in the guide as well as when you press 2 it goes to analog 2 not LA2, and there isn't even a analog picture? I'm hoping there's a fix? In the setup I checked the 6X8 Multiswitch even though it has a 3 LNB (4
out) into a 5X8 Spaun Multi......Help

The H-20 does not have an analog tuner, so you will never have your modulated cameras appear thru it.

Yea, I heard that you can't diplex once the MPEG4 comes down the pipe.

Here we go.

You can diplex if you are using a 3 lnb dish. It is when you switch to the AT-9 5 lnb dish that they are using the lower frequencies for the 99 and 103 birds.

If it's true that the H-20 doesn't have an analog tuner why does it show analog channels in the favorite list as well as go to analog channel when I press "2" on the remote even though there is no picture? It also shows 2, 2-1, LA2 in the guide!!! If it sees analog why doesn't it find my modulated camera channels?

If you have HDTV locals available in your area the guide will show three entries for each of the stations available in HD:
The HD OTA station
The HD Directv station
The non-HD DirecTV local

The H-20 does NOT have an analog tuner....

Here's the situation. The guide shows the following
2-kcbs
LA2-local directv feed
2-1- local hd feed
The Directv HD feed is in the HD area of the guide " 81"
When "2" is pressed it goes to the first 2 listed in the guide but no picture, channel up gets you 2-1local hd. It confusing the hell out of me.In the " favorites" area of set-up you can see 2, 2-1,4, 4-1, etc and are supposed the make your own channel guide by checking off certain channels, but it doesn't work.Funny thing is the guide doesn't show a 5, only LA5 & 5-1 and goes straight to LA5 when " 5" is pressed on remote. Bottom line even if it doesn't have an analog tuner why doesn't it go straight to LA2, LA4, ETC?

Is there any current HD receiver that has an analog tuner (besides hr10-250)? Do I need to buy a refurbished older unit (Samsung or Sony)? It feels like I'm going backwards...

If you google "directv H20" and "CRAP" you get the same results.

2-kcbs is the MPEG-4 local
2-LA2 is the non-HD local DirecTV feed
2-1 is the OTA local

DirecTV's position seems to be (1) that analog is going away and (2) almost every station is now transmitting in digital anyway. There is certainly an argument there is no need for an NTSC (analog) tuner in a STB. If you are connecting to a TV with a built-in NTSC tuner then you can use that one. Otherwise you can use the tuner in your VCR.
For those of us (including me - and PSS) who modulate signals onto unused channels for things like cameras, there is a problem (and it is not going to get any better). FMany more channels have been occupied now with the advent of digital stations (and this will not change until NTSC channels go away). Second, NTSC tuners will at some stage become more and more difficult to find. Maybe someone will develop a modulator producing an ATSC signal instead of NTSC.
