Any suggestions on a rock solid DVD player for commerical use. Playing infomercials 6 hours a day' 6 days a week. We just need composite or s-video out.
A quick search found this:

But I would like to hear if any of you have any experience with such type of players.
I'm always right. The only time I was wrong was the time that I thought, that I was wrong.

Just tried two pioneer 5000 commercial DVD's. The video went out after about 1 month. Had to order two more on a Friday at full price and RED UPS saturday. Got back from pioneer with no probelm found. Probably hooked up saw video and called it a day instead of running for 1day. Looking at Medeawiz myself and will order one tomorrow. Looks pretty good, but a hard drive can crash too.

I have a Denon 1710 that has been in use for a year & a half in a passive theater/ tv room for kids & dad's at a huge furniture store/design center. I do not know the actual hours/day but it gets a lot of nonstop use. Wait a minute, we are on our 3rd lamp in pj & wev'e been gettin' about 1800 - 2200 hours/lamp. Shazam! I guess we're gettin' about 10 or so hours a day. Erik

We used A Panasonic RV-80 in a mall display running 12hours a day, 7 days a week for several months without a problem. I'm not sure if the newer Panasonic's are quite as sturdy though. I'd consider a Marantz or Sherwood Newcastle. Something with a 3 year warranty.

We use the Denon Single Disc DVD-players for commerical use. We have had no problems.

Putting resi DVD players in an application like this is not good practice.

We use the Tascam piece that Ted/Impaqt mentioned very good build quality and never had a problem.

We do alot of chain stores in malls though out the North East and we see ALL sorts of players that we are installing and removing and the panasonic seem to be very popular. Most should do fine, we see a ton of Residential style players and they never seem to have problems. But I wouldn't spec one my self.
