I'd like to hear the 'technical' reason that he cites. No technobabble allowed. Get to the electron level.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

About a year ago, when I connected the first DVD recorder in home use, I was honored (or cursed) to make some changes to a system that already had a dozen changes over the last year or so. The system was a Pioneer plasma, Pioneer Elite receiver, various other components - all of which included an S-connection with its composite. Well, as an experiment, (and because my final connections made it this way) I checked all the components for picture quality and clairity on the Pioneer plasma between Composite, S, and Component. Well, much to my suprise, (and this is the only time I have seen this) in all sources S-video was superior to even the Component. How is this? Especially when Component is supposed to be the pinnacle of video connection? I admit that the improvement was only about 1% and you would have to really look to see a difference, but I was really expecting to see just the oppositte. Just how much better was Component that S? In this case, not at all.
