Hello,

im having an issue getting an MRC44 system which i installed into a customers house to control a sat. receiver Foxtel box.

i obtained a .pal file from a previous workmate whom believed that this file forked for the system, however it seems that it does not.

has anyone or does anyone know how to fix this issue. I know Ambertech has admitted to the MRC44 not being able to learn the sat. foxtel codes via the standard methods.

i have also emailed Ambertech but i am also trying here aswell in hope

any imput would be valuable

thanks,

Dallas

Have not had this issue before. Try importing a clean hex code. Sky Digital shares the same codes also, so maybe you guys in the UK can chime in?

I had a 88 that would not control a F'ing sony CD player. i could not learn the codes. The codes in the database didn't work. And the relay at the keypads didn't work.

I nearly rang the neck of the rep who said... well if the remote emits RF as the same time that can confuse the MRC88. He actually said that. I think we actually managed to return the piece in the end.

Controled a Hughes SAT box perfect. And the dual tuner interface on the standard keybad was pretty cool.

I have found the Sky codes learn quite easlily. I know youve probably tried this, but;

Assuming you are learning the codes in manually;

New batteries in the handset.
Varying distances between remotes.
Learn to another remote. Check it works. If so;
Learn that one in and try that.

The above have worked for me a few desperate times. The Sky codes are not unusual or awkward I don't think.
Sticking to what I'm good at.

I remember trying and failing to learn Fox IQ into a Xantech system. Can Dragondrop take hex codes? If it can, the Sky+ CCF on this site has working codes, though the number key HEX must be a bit messy or something because I found they weren't working in channel macros very well.

(Sky+ = Fox IQ by the way. Sky digital = Fox digital. I guess that kind of explains the SCART connection on the back)

Hello. I am pretty sure I have had no problem learning Sky remote codes into Xantechs drag and drop. You may have to try the toggle function when learning to learn two parts of the code. I don't mean to state the obvious, but the learning eye on the mrc44 is in a very strange place on the back of the unit and I know it can be quite hard to make sure the remote is being aimed at the right place, and the remote also wants to be very close to the eye to learn properly. Another option which may be easier, is to use the xantech learning remote and learn the codes in there and drop the file into the mrc44 source folder. If this dosen't help I certainly have a sky file I can send you. I can be reached at [email protected] Good luck
