IF you can get a decent flight---and price. IT's Spring Break for most kids at the same time, so Airlines are in the Gouging for all they can get.
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.

I will be there. Of course all I have to do is hop in the car and drive 4 hours. None of my vendors will be there but...I already know what they sell. I am going to learn about new stuff.

I went last year and I will be there again this year. For me it was worth it. I made some new contacts, saw some new equipment, picked up a couple new lines. If you have the budget for it it is worth it.
That being said I am turning it into a long weekend and am gonna enjoy sunny Florida for a while.

Heck yeah!

Flights are a little tricky at this time of the year. Try sidestep.com, a little -known alternative to expedia & the others. Finding some of the best dealers there.

Debating between EHX and Infocom.... Cant do both since I've got CVIT in May as well. I've always liked Infocom because of the number of black boxes and little known solutions for Resi apps but EHX is starting to look worthwile....

Plus Julie says I should go to EHX... So it cant be all that bad ;)

I've attended EHX the past three years and have a great experience. Granted, it's only an hour and a half away, so there is not much build up for us, but the floor is good size, and the trainings, paid and free, are usually installer friendly (not just sales).

BONUS: The MEGACON "conference" takes place the same weekend in the same huge building, so all of the comic book/sci-fi freaks are out in full...and I do mean FULL force. You've got your Vaders, your Storm Troopers, Pokemon, X-Mex, Vampires, freak, geeks and enough basement dwellers to fill a 2 page sexual predator publication in the local fish wrap (no offense to anyone mentioned above, that may be reading this post)(but seriously dude, it's time to cut the cord).

Bahama Breeze, located right down the street, is a cool place to go after you've had enough of the b.s. There is usually a live reggae band and lots of libations. Most of the industry heavy-hitters wind up there, and is a cool place to meet and greet.

See Ya there...

Unfortunately megacon doesn't coincide with EHX this year I don't think. But that was hilarious the year we had the Megacon goths on one side and national cheerleading championships on the other!

This year, we get to share the convention center with the Scrapbook Expo, though. Yoo Hoo! Bring your scissors. Also, the Show Choir Nationals.

I just googled Megacon - It was this past weekend. Did you know that they had a dedicated Joss Whedon room? As a BtVs uber-geek I am saddened that it didn't coincide with Expo.
Now, how do you figure out if the cheerleaders will be there...oh wait, how old are these cheerleaders?
Nevermind.
