I have worked with both. The codes are different. both have seperate On/Off commands but you can't automate SD/HD on the Sony. You can on the Zenith though. I believe the sequence is SD/HD then left cursor for SD, and SD/HD then right cursor for last HD mode. The Dish Network receivers work similarly if anyone is interested. I think the sequence for those is SD/HD then page up or down.
