Spaun will have new multis soon, and none of the old hardware will work with MPEG4.
The H20s are available at retail for $100 with $100 rebate. No word yet on the HD DVR though...
I laugh when manufactures throw down a lame requirement like solid copper center conductor from dish to receiver. Can anyone say HD cable!

There may be some truth about using pure copper center conductor cable. My satellite guy does Wild Blue and is required to use that style of cable. He has mentioned in passing that the same will probably apply to the new direct TV installs. I will ask him for more details and post his answers on this post.

From what I understand (from the traning video on the DTV retailer website):
4 solid copper downleads, due to higher voltage requirements on the new dish (which is, by the way, a real pain in the ass to install).
New volatge switches.
HR10-250 replacement in April (from my distributor).
You can't diplex onto teh DSS lines once you switch to mpeg4, due to the expanded bandwidth.
In that note, I installed a 5LNB dish with H-20's a few weeks ago, in a house with CCS RG6 (electrician wired it), and it worked.
I'm sure at some point, Holland will have a diplexer for us. They seem to have a solution for all strange things satellite.
