Uh, no... the Liberty things are these plastic plug devices that "place" your buried wire during pre-wirings... so you can come back a year later and the dog ate your wiring map, you can easily locate your wires without having to tone them out, and end up cutting into the wrong stud-bay anyway!

I don't know, in Colorado those things would be gone as soon as the insulators arrived on site, and the ones that they miss the sheetrockers would be sure to clean up. I prefer to take measurements of the studbays that the prewire is located in and then write them on the studs on either side, I then take one picture from a distence to see what wall it is and then one picture up close so that you can read the measurements and any notes you want to add. I do this alot of times even with items with a box just in case they don't get cut out at drywall time. It has saved me from alot of extra work as well as a few other trades whos lost items have shown up in my pictures.

Why would the insulators mess with them? Now... drywallers--- That I understand!

When they insulate the walls, they can get knocked off the wall or pushed back into the wall behind the insulation.

seems like that would be tough to do. Have you used them? They have a pretty stiff bracket that spans the joist... really similar to speaker rough-in brackets--- and kind of a long neck the plug screws into.We haven't had any problems with them to date, and we've got crazed insulaters up here too!

I've had insulators rip plastic speaker prewire brackets off of the wall before so they could put their insulation up on way to many occasions to write it off as an accident.
