Usually I connect my components(sat&dvd) to my Marantz SR7000,butI just purchased a Hitachi 65swx20b and was wondering if I should just connect my audio to the SR7000 and video straight to the tv inputs?Any advatages/disadvantages?Just wondering. Thanks

If you DVD/SAT has component outputs the use them, (red, green, blue).either on your reciever or your TV.
if your DVD/SAT is just composite (yellow) then just use it thru your reciever. Some recievers wont pass HD
so you have to go thru the TV (if your sat is HD)
Now you are doing your switching thru your reciever so your TV stays on one input, if you go thru your TV the ease of operation may be an issue. But if you have a universal remote (Pronto, and the like) and discrete codes then that wont be a problem, but thats a different problem.

why have a nice system if you cant operate it, program the remote the right way the FIRST time!

I would say use your receiver for as much as possible. It's designed as a switcher, so use it. Otherwise you could buy a single channel dolby decoder instead of spending all those bucks on a receiver.
