At this time, it would be wise to keep an 880 around for creating files in a hurry, cause the 890 software SUCKS! When I need to do an 890, I create the customers file, and perfect all the activities with the 880, and then upload it it the 890. It takes times longer to upload an 890! As a proud Harmony dealer, I am somewhat dissapointed with the 890.

Thanks for the heads up. My entry level customers love the 880. They like it a lot more than the Xantech URC 2.

Ok, well the final product worked great, as do all the Harmony Remotes, and the 890 was even better, because of the RF working flawlessly! However I am not sure the ends, justify the means. The 890 uses the 6.2.4 software only, and without a high speed connection,(like out in the field) you can't program them. They definatly have some bugs to work out. In the meantime, I would like to get familiar with the universal line. I know I can count on you guys to help me through the learning curve.

You will like the URC line. It is definately more flexible and controllable than the Harmony. Easy to program. The only ones worth doing are the PC programmable models, MX 850, 950, 3000. If you've done any other PC programmable remote, the learning curve should not be steep.
