Customer was shopping through all the plamsa ads and such on all websites..........

Found the HP-R4252 and liked the speakerless apperance in the Sears
ad....
[Link: sears.com]

Problem....This TV shows up all over on every other site as having a base set of speakers with IR sensor and such....

Now he's dead set on that TV model and having a floating TV with the look of the Pioneer elite with an all black bezel sans speakers....For that particular price point...

Do they come off, im sure they do, but will the TV operate without the IR sensor and power button...........

IM SAYING NO!..........but stranger things can happen.....
hell, a cockroach can live with his head removed till he starves.

Im only asking have you done it or a straight NO it can't be done if you know for sure....

4272 model - the speakers are not removable. Can't say about the 4252
Chasing Ernie's post count, one useless post at a time.

The Samsungs don't look the greatest, I can't say exactly on this model but the pictures in the manual look like it may be detachable but because the manual doesn't say anything about removing it, or show it removed, I would have say that it isn't. I would go down to CC and check it out, your rep should be able to tell you as well. Discretes are hit and miss, the only Samsung Plasma I put in about a year ago had discretes for video 2, dvi, antenna, and power on/off but nothing else, it can change from model to model so you may want to bring a remote with all the discrete files from this site and try them all out as well.

The 4252 and 4272 are essentialy the same model. BOTH have NON-deatachable speakers along the bottom of the screen. The 4252 'floats' on a Silver speaker section. The 4272 'floats' on a gloss black speaker section. The 4272 looks really good.

The ED model used to have detachabel side speakers, don't know if it is even made anymore. The commercial models are monitors only with available attachable side speakers.

Trust me I knew it was a mistake but everyone always can be the first to do anything so I thought I would ask...........

I even asked him, is it a file photo or the actual photo......he was convinced and I had to get some reassurance that I wasn't crazy..

Even though some of these jobs are driving me there!!!

THANKS!!!!!!

yeah, we ripped off the speakers on the bottom on a sammy 4252 kinda comes off like a bumper on a car. Everything worked ok except that the only ir receiver is built into the round on off button which comes off with the bumper. We stuck a emitter to it and attached it it behind the tv.
