An out of town client will be replacing his Dish6000 HD receiver with a new Vip211 HD receiver.. are the ir codes the same for these models? Just want to know if I will need to be making changes to his AMX now rather than at 10pm the day he puts it in.

All should be the same. I just got my 622 HD/DVR yesterday, and the ir codes are the same. They have always been the same as long as there on the same adreess code. Cant speak on discreets, but the regular codes should be the same
No, I wont install your plasma with an orange extension cord hanging down the wall.

Still waiting on Dish to activate the showroom acct, so I dont really know yet. As Im a dealer, it takes about 3 days to activate, verses the normal 3 minutes.

I have heard some talk of the tpyical bugs, freezing up, etc. They added SD outputs for TV1, and I do know they have both HD abd SD outputs are hot simultaneoulsy, which helps. Plus they added TV1 to the modulated output, so you can choose between TV1 or TV2 on the remotely located TV. nice for multi-TV homes with only 2 people living there, etc. No need for a 2nd box, yet you can have TV and control in as many rooms as you want

I haven't been to satelliteguys in a while, but I just noticed that Scott has a (rather long) review of the 622 :

Speaking of discretes, how about a discreet for a dash or dot for OTA stations on a Dish receiver? Just got the 411. I spoke to a Dish tech who said she did not know of a discrete for a dash or dot. That would make a macro sooo much easier.

Yea, Scott got that piece from me, as the distributor shipped them out a little early by mistake. Now I'm waiting for one to come in for me!
