BREAKING NEWS: Neuman Leaves EchoStar
In a Securities and Exchange Commission filing released today, EchoStar said Michael Neuman resigned as president and CEO.

Neuman's duties will be assumed by Carl Vogel, vice chairman of the company, and Michael Dugan, chief technical officer and formerly president and chief operating officer, EchoStar said.

Neuman joined EchoStar in June.

Theres no such thing as a good media provider, we might as well all get used to it.

CCD I know you are right. I just had a customer move into a new house. He moved his old equipment with him even though I told him not to. Once in the new house, things weren't working they way he though, and he decided he wanted HD. He called Dish and they said it would be $800 for new equipment. He said he would sign a long term deal (he had the old equipment for 6 years). They said not unless he purchased the equipment outright.

In this age of disposable cell phones, consumers are used to getting the latest technology dirt cheap. Somewhere along the way Dish and Direc lost their way.

Don't even get me started on the "free install."

It gets worse! We're still a Dish dealer and just got the lateset 2 page "fax blast" where iy explains all the "Deals". I and my partners were wondering when the sat companies were going to the full "cell phone" business modle and with D* and E* pretty much using lease only promos, the time is here. To top it off, Dish had just started a "pre-paid 30 day sat card" deal. That's right a 30 day pre pay card!
We're justy about done with them. Remember the good old days when people actaully bought items, and YOU made money? Where has the tiime gone.....

Did a prewire a couple of years ago, the customer had dtv (not HD) at his old house so I sold him an HD dish as part of the prewire. When it can time to move in he had dtv do the free move, they gave him new receivers too. The installer came out, saw my HD dish and informed the customer that I had sold him the wrong dish, a LATIN dish and promptly put his standard dish above mine on the roof. Then he ran his cables down the side of the house and grounded his dish to my enclosure in the basement.
