Any of you guys or gals out there doing ISF calibrations try this thing out? I'm wondering why it is only $269 when their "Professional" model is $2400.

I was told the "$269" version only has basic calibrations where their"pro" model utalizes the enginers menu and carries an ISF quality calibrator. We plan on getting the pro some time in the next couple of months. (It's on our Earl list)

Oh yeah, I forgot, I have used the Sencor colorproII in the past, I no longer have access to that unit and am looking into getting back into calibrations, it's been a few years since I've done one, how do the colorvisions compare?

"basic calibrations only" does that mean that it doesn't have the color temp chart? the product info seems to state that it "measures contrast, brightness, color, tint, and color temperature" as long as I can calibrate to 6500k I'm not sure what else I need to do with it. However it doesn't seem to be compatable with front projection units.

I beta tested for this product last year in March. Milori, the company that developed the software is based out of RTP... From the pre production model that I used, like most pre production models of everything needed alot of work. First off its only for basic brightness contrast color and tint controls NOT a complete greyscale/gamma calibration. It uses the same puck as their cheaper pro model, which is pretty nice. It doesnt work on CRT rptv's though, this was my biggest gripe with it... It wasnt very responsive either, like my sencore puck it took it a second to register on the screen. Bottom line, it did an alright job, I usually had to tweak it to my liking. The one thing it didnt do a very good job at all of is contrast on plasmas, part of the algorithm built into the software asks you to switch back and forth from 100 to zero over and over and over, I must have spent an hour trying to get it to work one day... The whole color temperature calibration is basic as well, it asks you to change to the different presets and tells you which is closest, referencing with the ColorPro it still was wayyyy off on the Toshiba plasma we had in the store, but it served the purpose of showing someone that has no clue what to do how to get a tv close to right... Im sure they got most of the bugs worked out for production and I havnt seen one since I shipped the Beta model back about 6 months ago... They definitely have a winner, and it doesnt really hurt my ISF work because they still cant get their tv to D65 without me (or anyone else that knows what to do) :P

Thanks, sounds like the colored cellophane strips I have from video essentials will work just as well.
