I've gone into the menu and changed Dish receivers from RF to IR, but haven't tried it on this box before. Can it be switched to IR? Is the procedure the same?

It didn't come with IR orginially, but their is a modification that can be added to the existing board. It is so old that I wouldn't recommend it. It would be cheaper to get the customer a new one.
