I have a system where I will be specifying a Toshiba DLP RPTV. You cannot set a center channel on top of these TV's - as just like many others - the top slopes down in the rear severly.

Has anyone used this Sanus "TV Top Shelf" ? Or can you recommend any other brand that you've had sucess with?

I am unfamiliar with the Sanus but, I used Omnimount's (I know, I know, I was in a bind) version and it stunk. Within 4 weeks it had given way, released the center channel speaker, which fell in such a way as to smash (and I do mean smash) the client's DVD player then headed the OTHER direction and put a corner thru the sheetrock. Nice. Not only did I have to take responsibility and replace the DVD but, I had to patch the wall as well. Yikes!

Theaterworks,

What type of TV did you use it on - do you recall the brand, type and size? thanks.

The Sanus website specifically says the shelf does not work with most RPTV's so I have avoided it for such. How well did it work with the Sony? I have a customer owned Sammy that I could use it on. Any thoughts.

Thank you

MIke G,

Thanks for that bit of advice. I'll take your word for it.

A shame someone doesn't make a product like this that actually works for RPTV's. How hard can this be?
