I installed an OnQ router today and ran through the setup wizard. I get no internet traffic but I knew I had a good internet connection without the router....
...So eventually I call the ISP tech support who are about as much use as a chocolate coffee cup then OnQ tech support and they inform me that the setup wizard screws up the MTU setting, (changing it from 1500 to 0). This setting means that the Maximum Transferable Unit is changed from 1500 bits to 0 bits, i.e. no traffic.
I reset the router back to factory settings and all works great.
Don't you just love it when the tech support seems to think you should have guessed this by yourself.
I hope this little tidbit of info saves someone from the hour of frustration I endured checking settings and patch cords and power cycling everything including the microwave oven....
