What would any of you guys down south use for a non-penetrating roof mount? I have an uncle who has a condo where i will be putting in his dish but i will have to use a non-penetrating mount. I'm just worried about hurricanes and flying dishes! His last two have disappered when the storms came, they were bolted to an old AC unit which is also gone now since the roof was redone. I'm mostly just worried about cinder blocks sliding off the roof? maybe i worry to much?
Non penn mounts are designed not to move as long as you use the recommended # of blocks. There are actual specs for this based on dish size and wind speed, etc.
Like Fred said, if it DOES move/blow away, that is the least of the worries (like your missing A/C unit)
No, I wont install your plasma with an orange extension cord hanging down the wall.
I had the good fortune to work on building a house in a town south of Houma. It was a project through AFSC. The recipients had been living in their car for five months.
My shots are current due to travel to other locations (Cuba, etc) in recent years.
It was a staggering experience. If you are at EHX I'll tell you more....
