I wasn't really sure which forum I should ask this question:
Does anyone know of a universal remote I can purchase which would replace the remote for a ViewSonice projector (it is a model #PJ550)?

You might try MX-700 or another Home Theater Master remote. I checked the MX-700 editor and they do list Viewsonic and four sets of codes. Hopefully one set would control your projector.
Of course if you still have the old remote then any learning remote should be able to transfer the codes to a more capable remote from the old Viewsonic remote.

Most of the Viewsonic projectors are rebadged Optomas. Hope this info helps
