If we have multiple systems today i spec in something like the B&K ct-1 so that there is only one flasher on a shared piece of equipment. BUT what about older systems where all of a sudden they want to add some type of control in a couple of bedrooms to control, say a Modulated Escient. I have the wire in place but and doing a CT1 is an option but major overkill for one flasher. It seems like somewhere, many years ago i did this same thing once or twice by tying the three ir control systems together onto one flasher by using 100ohm (i think) resistors. Does this sound right or has the lack of alcohol finally done my brain in?

the 100Ohm resistor is for long IR RUns...

COmbining IR Emmiters requires a Diode on the Signal side of the IR Flasher.

Positive Lead of IR Outputs

IR1:-----------------------|<----------+-----8 <-Flasher
/
IR2:-----------------------|<---------/|

Ground sides just get tied together

Dunno how myAscii art is gonna come through. I can draw a picture and host it somewhere if it doenst make sense.

Lack of alcohol would be my guess. I tried to read your post but forgot it all of it once i read about alcohol depletion.

I saw an ad for xantech with a new emitter that has 2 mini plugs on it for 2 sources but I don't see it on their website yet.

I just heard about that today, brilliant if true. I did not see anything on their website though.

The Xantech piece is listed in the catalog but not on the Ir list of the web page, if you open the catalog on the products page abd goto page 56 you will see it on the top

[Link: xantech.com]

282TP TWIN PLUG MOUSE EMITTER
• 282M high-output Mouse Emitter with two 3.5mm plugs
• Allows control of single source by two IR systems
• Diode isolation for independent control and component protection
• Wire length: 10 feet

Or the same with flash confirmation

283TP TWIN PLUG BLINK-IR MOUSE EMITTER
• 283M Blink-IR visible Mouse Emitter with two 3.5mm plugs
• Allows control of single source by two IR systems
• Diode isolation for independent control and component protection
• Wire length: 10 feet
There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.
