I have a project soon in a football club (OK, soccer to some) and was wondering what you guys have done before.

If I go the 4:3 route, then simple; loads to choose from, very bright, like the infocus LP600 for example.
But if the broadcasts for the World Cup or any other for that matter are in 16:9 like most are now from the majority of braodcasters, then you'll either get 4:3 pan and scan from the sat receiver, or black bars top and bottom if set to output in 16:9.

Thing is customer is concerned that it is high-def ready, for the soon arriving Sky HD service. If I put in one of the infocus screenplay models, which are 16:9, the brightness may not be enough, right? The 5700 model is rated at 1000 lumens, where the LP600 is 2000. What to do?

Help, I'm used to home cinema, where the choices are simpler!

Also I would imagine that the LP600 range would be a little more tolerant of the commercial environment?
Sticking to what I'm good at.

I would recommend a SIM2 because they have a sealed light engine to help eliminate the nicotine buildup from smoking ciragettes. Do they allow smoking in bars on the other side of the pond?

Allow it? I think they encourage it.
Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Go with the Sanyo PLV-WF10. It's a native 1366 x 768, 4,000 TRUE lumen projector. If it's too bright, you can run it on a single bulb (takes two bulbs) for a measly 2000 lumen picture, which doubles the bulb life. They are around $7K.

Stay away from any DLP, unless it has sealed optics. The color wheel bearing will disentigrate within a year, rendering the PJ useless, and unrepairable.
