I have been using DTC 100's for some time now. What are you custom installers using until the DTC200 comes out in feb?

We are using the Hughes and the new Sony HD200. The new Sony's don't have a signal strength meter for local digital so I am unhappy about that. The Hughes has a discrete code for HD and SD so thats a plus but I have yet to be 100% happy with a receiver.

Actually the Sony HD200 had a signal strength meter. Access it on the remote by pressing "signal". A small bar appears at the bottom of the screen. It stays up on screen for approx 10 sec.

Hughes is a good all around receiver and I've always had good luck with the exception of the last 2. One had a scrambled guide (not in numerical order) and both would periodically search for satellite signal and pixelize.

Sony HD 200 does not have a discreet IR command for HD on/ off having to toggle through formats really SUCKS.
Anyone hear of a fix or a macro that can do HD on /off?

We are using the Samsung SIRTS-160 and have had good luck with it. The S-video and composite video are always hot at 480i allowing for video sync, PIP or a backdoor to SD/HD toggling using the discretes for the TV. No luck on any discrete commands yet, but the picture and audio are good. The multpiple output options are a big plus compared to the DTC-100(RGB, Component, HDCP, all selectable at 480p, 720p, or 1080i)

I use the Zenith HD-520. It has a more sensitive tuner than any other STB that I have tried, and their upconversion of SD is the best.
