Any thoughts on this projector. Compared to others in its range. Techincal question. What is the preferred throw distance max and min. on a 119" 16x9 screen. Thanks for the input.

The lens is 2.0:1 to 2.6:1, which is the lens-to-screen distance times the screen width.
A 119" screen in 16x9 (1.78:1) is 104" wide, so 2.0 x that would be 208" (17' 4") for the closest acceptable, and 2.6x the width is 270.4" (22' 6") for the farthest acceptable.
With a 119" screen, you have 62+" of throw range to find your placement... But personally, I never go in the first or last 10% (6" in this case) of the throw, because you never know if you are going to get burned on an overscan situation or pincushion...
I have used HX2s on large screens, and you will have plenty of light output for your screen. DLPs will have deeper blacks that this PJ, but if you watch the entire picture, and not just 20IRE and lower, than you will love the picture this unit is capable of producing.
I have done them with Stewart Grayhawk and Grayhawk RS screens, and I have seen them look great on M1300 1.3 gain white material from Draper as well. Personally, I do not care for Draper's HD-Grey material...
Also, run a component feed to this, as the DVI in can be hard to tweak out depending on the sources you use.
