Depends on your perspective.
No, I wont install your plasma with an orange extension cord hanging down the wall.

Anything from a car audio/ marine application works fine......

I'm sure you meant more of a home application, but remember you inside a small box.

Niles OS10s under the bench. Check out the specs, they will handle the heat as well as the moisture.

It was the heat that concerned me the most!

Make sure to install them down low. Since heat and steam rise, the floor area is alot cooler, and won't damage the speakers as quickly. Make sure to tell your client that the harsh environment will definitely shorten the speaker's lives.

Another vote for the Sonance. I had a customer that wanted speakers IN his shower. Been working for over 2 years now!

Zillions of regular old Sonance Symphony and it's predecessor series later in steam showers later. All are well that I know of... And even the occasional dry sauna. Been lucky I guess.

Love the SST's in them.

Glennzo- I like the down low idea for the wood lined saunas. Only makes sense. ...(do they have convection saunas?) ...Maybe put the speaker/s in inside the bench if it's got s slotted area it can hide inside. Would keep it looking clean in there.

Problem is they've been discontinued for over a year...

OS7.5 will do the trick, though...;]

I agree with the Sonance extreme. Have also done several speakercraft in the past and all still work (some in up to 7 years so far) not the cheapy ones though. Also a big yes to mounting down low.
I guarantee I'll tell you the truth and I guarantee I'll tell you what you need to know but I can't guarantee that I'll be telling you anything you want to hear.

Here is your best bet:

www.terraspeakers.com

check out the weatherproof connectors, this will be the first part to fail on all other conventional outdoor products.

The stuff that marine distributors carry is garbage...

For surface mounted solutions, you can use any decent under-eave outdoor speaker like the previously mentioned Sonance Mariner & Niles OS series. Other good choices are the Polk Atrium, the Klipsch outdoor, and the Canton PlusXL Outdoor (my personal choice).

I have used traditional in-walls in showers as well (fingers crossed)... but I was happy to see Sonance release the Extreme In-Walls.
