Sony HD-100, a great DSS receiver, but the output device scrole option blows! Is there anyone out there who may have the Discrete IR for VGA 1080i output, and video 1/ RF output? I have a customer that wishes to record off DSS and wants to watch at the same time. I am using a CHAD remote for control. I do like how the sony can direct all video down the VGA, but the output does not work for other outputs at the same time. PLEASE help! Programming night mare!!

This is a feature that We can all thank Direct TV for nobody's HD DSS receiver can output from both at the same time I have spoken to RCA Panasonic and Hughes about the Cluster this creates for us all and @ present the only solution is to use the RCA with the Discreet codes However you will not be able to Watch and record From anybody HD DSS Receiver at the same time unless your Client is will to purchace a "Down Converter or scaler with a Built in Buffer APPROX $3500 for a decent one

If you hook up the supplied vcr IR emmiter and do you rec functions thru the Sat Rec, whenever you press Record now or set the timer the reciever switches to composite, then back to component or wherever it was before. I usually tell my customers to use oneof there other non HD sat rec to record, itsless confusing.
I'm not totally convinced of the other way, I've only used it that way once.
On the CHAD remote, just make him a page with a big input select button, or just push the button manually,
I know thaTS NOT WHAT HE/YOU WANT but since there are no discretecodes ...

With any HD receiver we sell that the customer expresses any interest in recording, we automatically add a basic secondary receiver to do so.

We use RCA exclusively, so it is easy to control both separately. And at a mere $50 for the additional receiver, and ease of programming, we consider it an easy sale.

Just another idea.
