Customer having a problem using a Sony playstation 2 on a new Samsung TV. Audio and video are not in sync. The problem is NOT model specific.
Samsung does have a service bulletin saying both the PS2 and X-Box can experience this and there is no cure for it and that the problem will be worse on Composite than when using component.
Out of curiosity, We hooked his game up to a Sony. Slightly better, but still out of sync.
It's not that I don't trust Samsung's bulletin.... but there's always a chance someone has come up with something they haven't thought of.
Thanks for your input.

Some home theater receivers give you the ability to adjust for that issue. Harman Kardon does in some models as I recall. You'd end up running the ps2 through that, adjusting appropriately, and then playing till the kid's brain rots. Or not. (not a big video game fan...)

I think Marantz has there version of it as well. Called Lipsync? Cant remember for sure. Never used it, or took the time to figure out exactly what it does or how it works. What exactly is it correcting?

There was an audio sync problem with a Samsung HL-P4663W I sold a customer about a year ago. Called the local shop that services Samsung and they came out and fixed it no charge, which surprised me. They also had some issues a few years ago with their DVD players and basically told their customers to F-Off. Not one of my favorite companies but YMMV.

Thanks for the time guys.
This is a stand alone TV, so the receiver options are out.
I figured this would be a 'no solution' question since Samsung said thre was no known cure.... but it never hurts go fish a little. Manufacturers don't have all the answers.
